Tusk at Essex House
I love science fiction and stories with time travel elements. This haunting tale is based on Richard Matheson’s novel Bid Time Return. The film, Somewhere In Time, stars Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour.
Set in a historically old hotel, our story highlights the vintage feel and architecture of the Essex House.
It seems like fate brought me to this hotel near Central Park. I remember standing in front of the hotel entrance in awe. The Essex House is glorious. This design had the unique elements of a cinematic story I needed to shoot for Tusk.
With fingers crossed I pitched my vision to Mark Ricci, who headed the Hotel’s PR firm. Luckily, he was familiar with the film — and was as excited as I was!
It may have taken a little time, but worth the wait. My permission to shoot at Essex House was approved! The hospitality was on another level. Besides providing us with an all-access pass throughout the hotel to shoot as we please, the staff catered a beautiful lunch for our team. Love love love …
